Although the scoreline couldn't be any more one sided all the games could have gone either way and certainly Sheepbridge can count themselves very unlucky on more than one occasion.
The genius that is Kieran McMahon fired TJ's A into the lead with a super, typically cool, calm finish. Conor O'Hare was fed to the lions by playing him against McMahon & his tactical break-off shot did nothing to help him. Once the TJ's no.1 covered the bottom pocket it was only a matter of time before it was 1-0 TJ's A.
When Jack Courtney went in-off on his break Collie Loughran was faced with a tricky but a possible finish. When Loughran broke down Courtney edged his way back in. A long red to the top pocket left the TJ's player with an easy finish & it was 2-0 TJ's.
Declan Brennan on the back of winning a tournament after beating the World Junior Pool champion in the final was bursting with confidence. But it was Brendan Markey who had a glorious chance to pull Sheepbridge back into the match but when the white ball hit the knuckle it fired Markey off course with the game at his mercy. Markey produced a good snooker but when Brennan whacked a hit & hope the white rattled in the pocket & rolled tight Behind his last Red. Markey failed to get out of it and TJ's A were 3-0 up.
Manny Byrne has lost more games this year than usual & it looked for all the world it was going to be 3-1 when Gwyn Trainor had 2 shots and a decent table to work with. Trainor looked nervous & had to settle for another snooker. When Byrne made the escape Trainor was left with a tricky long yellow. A terrific effort saw the yellow rattle in the pocket & Byrne fired TJ's A into a 4-0 lead.
Laurence McAlinden has been nothing short of sensational this season for TJ's A and although Pat Kearns has had a fantastic season for Sheepbridge it was always a bit of a mis-match. Kearns started well but 2 shots for McAlinden and the TJ's star seized control. A superb long red with a subtle screw-back left the result in no doubt & McAlinden rolled in the black to claim the Vegas cup for his team of Galacto's and a 5-0 win.
Captain Marvel Declan McConville could never have imagined his game would be worth noth but this is TJ's A. Barry Duffy was very unlucky & McCoville fired in some nice long range exhibition shots for 6-0.
Tristan Byrne looked to be in some serious trouble in his game with Donal McSherry. McSherry couldn't get the good safety play needed to tie up Byrne and it was Tristan that sunk the black for 7-0.
Eugene McDermott had the pleasure of Micky Cunningham & Cunningham was going well until a snooker by McDermott left the Sheepbridge star in trouble. Cunningham was very unlucky not to get out of the snooker but the 2 shots gave the City side control & McDermott made no mistake to make it 8-0
It's been a very good season for Sheepbridge getting to a final &. a semi-final and with the team struggling to get a full quota 8 for all their league games a few signings for next season could make them real league challengers.
TJ's A now face Whitecross on Thursday night to complete the clean sweep of all four team trophies on offer to them.
