Granvue took apart a struggling Moore's B side 5-3. The Omeath side will need to play a whole lot better if they are to turn their good start into a title challenge. Despite beating a very good Boyds team a few weeks ago Granvue Hotel couldn't hit top gear at home to basement side Morore's.
Peter McCourt lost on his home table to James Larkin and the Omeath side were 1-0 down.
Paddy Fisher had to play well to beat the excellent potting Amanda Pentony to level up the scores.
Shane Feenan beat Damien Doran to make it 2-1 Granvue before the reliable Niall McElligott squared the match by seeing off good player in Owen Smyth.
It was backs to the wall for the home favourites when the tasty Paul Bruen lost to another old reliable James Cunnane and it was 3-2 to Moore's.
David Heaney was comfortable against Gavin Rice for 3-3 then Chris Smyth gave the league leaders a 4-3 advantage with Anthony McCarthy taking home all the loot with an impressive win against Shane Black to make it 5-3 to Granvue Hotel.
Cue Club have settled into life in the Newry Pool league with an air of authority & confidence with 5pts from a possible 6 and sit joint 2nd in Div 2.
Cue Club blazed into a 3-0 lead over a decent Cavern line-up. Philip Murphy who had a great run in last years individuals competition should find the going relatively easy in Div 2 & he had no problem beating Anthony Kearney to put the snooker club 1-0 up.
Joe Magill & Eddie Lee won for the hosts over Gerard Murphy & Gary McDonald and Clue Club were cruising 3-0.
Ciaran Gilbraith pulled one back when he beat Jamie McCann but that wasn't the start of a big comeback. The snooker club turned the screw Derek Ruddy, John Craven & Calvin Li fired in 3 unanswered frames against Ronan McGrath, Shane Copeland & Joe Byrne.
Bizz Murphy couldn't produce the bizz in the final frame for the hosts when he fell short in the dead rubber match against Mark Byrne and the final score was Cue Club 6-2 Cavern.
ArmaghDown who disappointed last season have got off to a superb start this season and sit joint 2nd with Cue Club on 5pts. They had no problem beating Newry Forresters with an embarrassing 7-1 scoreline.
James Clarke, Oran Keenan, Bean Donnan, Caolan Marron, Ryan Gray, Shane Durnin & Willie Andrews fired the home side into a 7-0 lead with wins over Kieran Loughran, Andrew Chan, Paul, Campbell, Ramey Magee, Hugh McGrath, Ruairi McGrath & Ollie White. Some very good players in that Forresters team so maybe ArmaghDown are the real deal this year. Gerard Maguire got a consolation frame for the Forresters when he beat Vince Docherty to leave the score 7-1 for ArmaghDown.
Boyds Bar will certainly be there or thereabouts come the end of the season & after losing their 1st match of the season have bounced back with 2 wins. They had a comfortable 6-2 win on Thursday night over Maddens bar to put them on 4pts.
Millvale beat McSwiggans 5-3 to put them on 4pts and Trainors of Camlough are also on 4pts after a tight 5-3 win over St. Monnina.
