CWC B are 7 points clear of both Cavern and Millvale with 5 league games to go. CWC have one hand on the trophy and having dropped only 3 points all season and still unbeaten in the league, they have one hand and 5 fingers on the trophy.
Trainor's B hosted the champions elect on Thursday night. Trainor's are joint bottom of the league with usual suspects Madden's Bar. There was an incredible a 100 frame difference between the two sides prior to this game. Trainor's had shipped 91 frames so far while CWC B had won 84 frames. They were the worst and best records respectively.
The gulf in class was evident on paper and it panned out the same on the green baize.
Emmett McParland then the brilliant Tommy Rooney settled the pace setters into a 2-0 lead.

CWC B were a frame away from their 14th win in 17 games. Captain Barry Kelland duly obliged when he made it 5-1.

Ballyholland were the last team in the bottom tier to go a whole league campaign unbeaten. CWC look a safe bet to emulate that with only 5 games to go.
Cavern Bar and Millvale need a miracle if they are to catch CWC B. Realistically they are both fighting for 2nd place and they will know that only too well.
Cavern Bar hosted a tricky looking game against an inconsistent Glenn Social Club.
Darren Laird took the opener for Cavern but it was all square when the excellent Gerard Bagnall levelled. 1-1.
Stephen Byrne and Damon Murphy clicked into gear for the in form Cavern and Joe Byrne made it 4-1 and the home side were cruising.

Cavern led 4-3 and Joe Campbell would take on Glenn's Conor Morgan in the 8th and final frame. Campbell held his nerve to seal two invaluable points. Glenn made them fight all the way but it's Cavern that stay in the hunt for runner up spot.
Millvale were in 2nd spot a point clear of Cavern but a slip up against lowly Forester's C means they have to share 2nd place with Cavern.
St. Monnina and McSwiggan's knew the loser of this game was out of the promotion race. The Saints led 3-0 and 4-1. Saint Monnina sealed the win at 5-2. The South Armagh side are 4 points off the 2nd placed sides and will need help from other teams if they are to steal the title.
