Div 2 of the Newry & District pool League could hardly be any more exciting. Armagh/Down, Cue Club & Trainors of Camlough are all joint top with 9 points from 6 games. Tucked nicely 1 point behind is Granvue Hotel & Millvale with 8 points.
Philip Murphy has started the season in sensational fashion and no doubt he's playing in a division were he won't struggle to pick up wins. His stunning break finish fired new league entrants Cue Club into a 1-0 head start. Opponent Chris McKeown never got a visit tot the table as the classy Murphy 'Dished' up a win but it wasn't long before the snooker club were 2-1 behind.
The visiting Foresters had super potters Kieran Loughran and Andrew Chan to thank after wins over Sean McArdle and Jordan Murphy.

Eddie Lee couldn't wrap up the points for Cue Club but instead Hugh McGrath made it a nervy finish when he nicked a close frame for the Foresters to make it 4-3.
John Craven kept his good season going when he sealed the 2pts with a superb win over Gerard Maguire.
Trainor's of Camlough have won nothing on the pool table since Mark Trainor took over the Bar. They've had a couple of horrendous seasons but could the tide finally be beginning to turn? The pool players have been living in the shadow of the darts players and maybe a bit of pool silverware could be heading their way this season.
Tommy Mooney an ex-Corrinshego multiple league winner and another natural potting machine Declan Finnegan put the joint leaders Trainors 2-0 up with wins over the impressive Niall McElligott and Daryl Poucher of Moore's B.
Luke Phelan and Mark Trainor lost out to Kevin O'Hare and James Cunnane and the match was all tied up at the half way mark 2-2.
The experienced Charlie Doherty and Collie Rafferty won the next 2 for Trainors to ensure at least a point with wins over Raymond Poucher andmic James Larkin. 4-2.
Moore's B made it a nervy finish when Christopher Cunningham beat Damien Bunting.
Paddy McKeown got the all plaudits after a huge win over Damien Doran to wrap up a superb 5-3 win over a Moores Bar still stuck on 2pts and 2nd from bottom.
Armagh/Down had a comfortable 6-2 win over McSwiggans Bar to go top of the 2nd Division on frame difference.
James Clarke gave Armagh/Down the lead but Joe McAteer replied for McSwiggans for 1-1.
3 on the spin gave the home side Armagh/Down a comfortable 4-1 lead. Caolan Marron, John Rogers and the impressive Shane Durnin did the damage.
Stephen Wylie pulled 1 back for McSwiggans Bar but that was as good as it got for the visitors.
Willie Andrews wrapped up the points with a frame to spare & Brendan McCabe put the icing on the cake for Armagh/Down and it ended a comfy 6-2 win for the table toppers.
Granvue Hotel missed the chance to go top of Div 2 but a brilliant performance from the inconsistent Maddens Bar in Omeath put paid to that dream. Maddens won 4 from the last 5 frames to cause one of the major shocks of the weekend.
Ritchie Magee and Shane Feehan had helped Granvue to a 2-1 lead with Nicky Connell winning in between.
Cormac Duffy, Brendan Curran & Declan Cunnigham gave the visitors a 4-2 lead. Paul Bruen gave Granvue hope of rescuing a point but captain fantastic Sean Curran sealed a 5-3 away win and shoot the Newry side up to 8th in the table.
